Elementary Creative Writing

Duration: 40 sessions throughout the academic year

Mode: Offline and Online

Ages: Grade 2 

Course Objectives:

1.     Using a fun-filled approach to develop comprehension skills and expand vocabulary that also boosts academic performance

2.     Enriching creative thinking and the ability to discern diverse ideas and concepts through picture-aided exercises

3.     Providing a robust foundation to start a child’s journey of expression

 

Creative Writing Level 1

Duration: 40 sessions throughout the academic year

Mode: Offline and Online

Ages: Grade 3 / 4 

Course Objectives:

1.     Sensitising children to concepts of logical reasoning and coherence of thoughts while ideating and writing

2.     Introducing functional grammar rules to improve the quality of writing 

3.     Nurturing creativity and imagination while guiding children on the styles and techniques of writing

 

Creative Writing Level 2

Duration: 40 sessions throughout the academic year

Mode: Offline and Online

Ages: Grade 4 / 5 

Course Objectives:

1.     Mastering a structured writing approach for excelling at academic exercises

2.     Learning to shun the humdrum through engaging activities like creating suspenseful narratives, dialogue writing and procedural text writing

3.     Reinforcing the application of literary devices and a good vocabulary that reflects an improved grasp of grammar rules

 

Creative Writing Level 3

Duration: 40 sessions throughout the academic year

Mode: Offline and Online

Ages: Grade 5 / 6 / 7

Course Objectives:

1.     Emphasising the importance of fluency and correctness of pronunciation and developing personality through improved conversational skills

2.     Mastering the nuances of reports, factual recounts, essays and other such structures for improved academic performance

3.     Encouraging children’s creativity through story writing exercises that foster a love for the English language

 

Creative Writing Level 4

Duration: 40 sessions throughout the academic year

Mode: Offline and Online

Ages: Grade 7 / 8 / 9

Course Objectives:

1.     Simplifying academically important writing genres such as persuasive writing, argumentative writing, news reports, editorial report writing and autobiographies through a structure-and-outline-based approach

2.     Developing a keen eye for detail through editing and proofreading exercises

3.     Honing elocution and poetry recitation skills to improve pronunciation and confidence of vocal expression

 

Creative Writing Level 5

Duration: 40 sessions throughout the academic year

Mode: Offline and Online

Ages: Open only to students who have completed the Creative Writing Level 4 course at Classcapades

Course Objectives:

1.     Promoting critical thinking through activities like twisting story endings, reinventing popular stories and analysing the writing styles of famous authors

2.     Sensitising our writers about avoiding stereotypes, prejudices and subconscious bias in writing to transform our students into more responsible and confident writers

3.     Exploring the typically non-academic genres of writing such as non-fiction, historical fiction and self-analysis through creative writing

 

Advanced Creative Writing (Levels 1 and 2)

Duration: 40 sessions throughout the academic year

Mode: Offline and Online

Ages: Open only to students who have completed the Creative Writing Level 5 course at Classcapades

Course Objectives:

1.     Reinforcing the learning objectives of Creative Writing Levels 4 and 5 

2.     Fostering an open and collaborative mindset that enables better writing through feedback sessions, debates, reworking and classroom brainstorming sessions

3.     Providing opportunities to extensively practice writing, including participation in the editorial team for the Classcapades Annual Magazine/span>
